About this material
LiFSI does not hydrolyse to HF the way LiPF6 does, which makes it attractive for low-temperature, high-voltage and long-life cells. It also forms a more conductive, more stable SEI on graphite and a better passivation layer on aluminium.
The practical barriers are cost and corrosion. At high potential, LiFSI can attack the aluminium current collector unless a passivating additive is present, and residual chloride from synthesis accelerates that attack. The ≤10 ppm chloride limit on this grade is the specification that matters.
Documentation, controls and care
Quality controls
- Certificate of analysis per batch
- Moisture by Karl Fischer, reported per lot
- Trace metal screening
- Retained samples held for 12 months
Handling & storage
- Hygroscopic — weigh and transfer in a dry room or glove box.
- Store sealed under argon; discard if the powder cakes or discolours.
- Do not blend into an electrolyte above 60 °C; decomposition products form above that.
Grades on this page are references used to describe capability; they are not a fixed product list.
Specification values are typical windows compiled from public technical references and supplier
datasheets, and are provided for selection guidance only. The specification delivered against your
order is agreed in writing, and measured values are confirmed on the batch certificate of analysis.
