About this material
Tantalum-doped LLZO is the air-stable counterweight to the sulfides: a dense cubic garnet pellet with 0.3–0.8 mS/cm conductivity that can be handled, polished and characterised without a glove box. Relative density matters more than conductivity here — porosity at the grain boundaries dominates the measured resistance.
Pellets are supplied sintered and dimensionally checked. Polish both faces before use, apply a thin lithium or Au interlayer, and expect to need 1–5 MPa of stack pressure during cycling to maintain contact as lithium strips and plates.
Documentation, controls and care
Quality controls
- Certificate of analysis per batch
- Moisture by Karl Fischer, reported per lot
- Trace metal screening
- Retained samples held for 12 months
Handling & storage
- Store sealed under dry air or argon, away from light and ignition sources.
- Hygroscopic — dispense into a septum vial rather than reopening the stock bottle.
- Wear nitrile gloves, eye protection and a lab coat; consult the SDS before handling.
Grades on this page are references used to describe capability; they are not a fixed product list.
Specification values are typical windows compiled from public technical references and supplier
datasheets, and are provided for selection guidance only. The specification delivered against your
order is agreed in writing, and measured values are confirmed on the batch certificate of analysis.
