Technical FAQ: Battery Pack Equipment

Common questions about pack welding power supplies, automatic welders, sorting machines and test cabinets, answered from verified product documentation.

Technical Articles & FAQs

These answers cover the pack equipment questions we hear most often, based on confirmed product documentation.

Welding

How do I choose a welding power supply?
Start from your weld joint: material, thickness and required nugget size determine the current and timing envelope. Our welding power supply range covers maximum currents from 1,500 A to over 10,000 A depending on configuration, with independent control of squeeze, upslope, weld, cool, downslope and hold timing. Tell us your tab and busbar stack-up and we will recommend a configuration.

Single-side or double-side automatic spot welder?
A single-side welder suits packs where all weld points are accessible from one face. A double-side welder welds both faces simultaneously, which halves handling for two-sided nickel layouts and improves alignment consistency. The choice follows your pack topology.

Sorting and Assembly

What does the sorting machine grade by?
The five-/ten-grade sorting machine for cylindrical cells grades cells into five or ten channels; grading parameters and thresholds are configured to your incoming-cell distribution. For prismatic aluminum-case cells, the large prismatic sorter covers the larger format.

Testing

What is the difference between the grading cabinet and the aging cabinet?
The 5 V capacity grading cabinet (10/20/30/60 A options) measures and sorts cell capacity — a grading operation. The charge/discharge aging cabinet runs extended cycling over selectable voltage, current and channel counts — an aging and screening operation. Most pack plants need both, at different process stages.

Can the protection-board tester cover multi-series packs?
The automatic protection-board tester covers 1–32 series configurations, verifying BMS protection functions before the board is integrated into the pack.

Are website specifications final?
No. Pack equipment is configured to order around your cell format, pack design and throughput target; final specifications are fixed in the project technical agreement.

Discuss Your Project

Equipment configurations shown on this site are for reference only. Final specifications, layout and performance criteria are customized according to your cell design, capacity target and production requirements. Tell us about your project and we will propose a configuration.
