This checklist organizes a complete coin cell laboratory by process step. Use it to verify that your procurement plan has no gaps, and to brief your team on what each station needs. Every item links to the corresponding equipment page.
Station 1: Slurry Preparation
- Planetary vacuum mixer (500 mL, programmable) or multi-vessel vacuum mixer (50/150/500 mL) — confirm site voltage at ordering
- Slurry filtration system — recommended if coating thin or defect-sensitive films
Station 2: Coating
- Laboratory film coating machine or automatic touchscreen coater (includes vacuum pump and digital applicator)
Station 3: Drying
- Vacuum drying oven for electrodes and separators
- Forced-air drying oven for general drying (includes one vacuum pump)
Station 4: Calendering
- Electric rolling press; choose the heated rolling press if your process needs heated calendering
Station 5: Punching
- Manual punching machine — verify glovebox antechamber diameter above 230 mm if installed inside a glovebox
Station 6: Assembly and Sealing
- Crimping: manual hydraulic, electric touchscreen or pneumatic — see the crimping comparison
- Disassembly die set for post-test teardown
- Coin cell assembly box for organized bench assembly
- Research formats as needed: split coin cell kit, three-electrode cell
Utilities to Confirm Before Ordering
- Power: 220 V/50 Hz or 110 V/60 Hz availability at each station
- Gas: 0.7–1.0 MPa argon/nitrogen if selecting pneumatic crimping
- Glovebox: antechamber diameter and internal power outlets
